The National Alliance on Mental Illness, Virginia Beach Chapter is dedicated to increasing public understanding of mental illness to reduce stigma; to improve the quality of life for individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness; to provide support and education to families of the mentally ill and to persons with mental illness; and to promote research. NAMI

Affiliate members are consumers (patients) and their families and friends. Affiliate members belong to all three levels of the organization (local affiliate, state organization, and national) and are eligible to vote in NAMI elections. Join NAMI at the local-affiliate level if you wish to participate in local and state activities. Joining at the local level automatically makes you a NAMI member at all three levels.
